miratap – ASSE

Stainless-Steel Washbasin

editor: AK

Asse is one of the miratap’s washbasin portfolios which consists of thin plates of stainless-steel.

Washbasins are most commonly made of porcelain, ones in a white, round and plump shape are often seen. And the ones made of artificial marble are also relatively common, offering a higher degree of freedom in shaping and creating forms and textures that are impossible with porcelain.

On the other hand, stainless-steel hasn't been used much for washbasins. The reason is that it is fatally prone to rust as a washbasin bowl, and due to the paint being damaged and peeling off, rust occurs quickly.

After trial and error, miratap has achieved a paint method that is hard to peel off, and they have completed a stainless-steel washbasin, Asse, that can be used with peace of mind.

Comfortable Clean Design - Received Rreddot AWARD in 2018

Asse features its subtle edge line which highlights the unique square form. This form with slim and stylish design is realized by stainless-steel which might not be able to achieve with ceramics or artificial marble.

The drain cover is in the same finish as the bowl for pursuing an even cleaner impression. To complement the bowl, coordinating with a simple design faucet is recommended.

The development of this product was required ingenuity to maintain strength due to its thinness. In addition, extremely fine adjustments were necessary to create perfect right angles. In spite of simple design, there are many intricate details hidden. miratap's product developments are built on the accumulation of such meticulous designs.

In 2018, Asse won reddot award, an international design competition for product design, for its unique and stylish design.
